Ugly is the new beautiful in Petaluma. You say you have an ugly dog? Then come on out to Petaluma for their 22nd annual Worlds Ugliest Dog Contest on June 25th, 2010. The winner takes home $1,000 along with lots of doggie bling, a modeling contract with House of Dog and a tour of the talk show circuit.
The Sonoma-Marin fair is the venue for everyone to meet Handsome Hector, Monkey Man, Gizmo, Icky, Squiggy and more as they take center stage at 6:00PM. Celebrity judges Karen “Doc” Halligan, Vertical Horizon Lead Singer Matt Scannell and That '70s Show Christina Moore will take part as Comic Jon Reep emcees.
Before the contest gets underway, you can visit Three Dog Bakery to learn the PAWticulars of their Dog Party Cuisine and join their Tummy Rub Club. Paws for Reading will be in attendance as well for kids to read to their dogs. Ready to adopt? Sonoma Humane Society will be interviewing new masters for their foster dogs.
Ugly dog owners join in the fun from all over the United States. This years contestants are here from Texas, Rhode Island, Tennessee, North Carolina and Arizona to name a few. If you would like, you can vote for this years ugliest dog ... take a look!
