I was on Google maps the other day, trying to understand distances in a very hilly area with narrow roads. In some cases, it would take 7 miles to travel by car, yet 2 miles to travel by crow from one house to another.
The addresses in some of these rural areas can be really screwy. The house numbers seem random at times, first ascending, then descending. While I was trying to figure out how close two homes were on the same steet, I noticed something new (to me) on Google.
The houses were 105 feet apart. Google said I could drive there in 3 seconds, but WAIT, I could WALK there in 38 seconds. Of course at the time I was reading this I was sitting in my office chair. Sitting, sitting, sitting.
Is Google suggesting I need some exercise?
